Not buying it. It was staged. Going for the very dramatic, reality TV, gotcha moment to detract from the very real cognitive decline ignored by his cult as well as the plan that will destroy democracy and drive some invigorating campaign press, is the real story here.
It could have been staged. I put nothing past the republican party. However, a young man lost his life and one person at the rally killed and others injured. But then again do lives really matter to the republican party, especially when at a rally, Trump tells voters he really does not care about them but only their vote.

I used to go to Butler County, PA for my job at Iron Mountain. The underground vault is in Boyers. The city of Butler is a mecca for crime--meth, prostitution, gun violence, and MAGA. Probably a drug deal gone bad.

Half an inch one direction would leave him with potential mutilation to his ear and the side of his face.

The impact alone of a bullet at the velocity of an AR-15 on the orbital bone could easily shatter it, could cause a rupture of the globe of his eyeball, detach his retina, tear his optical nerve, the list of potential damage to just his eye goes on and on.
Anything that hits your head hard enough to gouge out bone will absolutely cause a likely potentially life-threatening concussion, bleeding, tearing, rubbing of the brain cross hemisphere against the inside of the skull; any if these are injuries that are difficult for anyone to survive, let alone a hypertensive, overweight man pushing 80.
So the odds of being able to reliably *only* clip him in the ear? I mean... would *you* bet your life?

Turns out Trump was hit by a piece of glass when the shooter hit somebody in the crowd behind Trump. Then Secret Service snipers shot the shooter, who they are saying was a terrorist and not an act of domestic political violence.
So this would have been a foreign operative or something.
Where did the bullet go? Why didn't anyone in the crowd behind him duck? Why wasn't there mass hysteria? There may be answers to this, but it seems weird people weren't more freaked out.
Bullets are stable while they are in motion in the air. They begin to destabilize when they impact a solid or liquid object, especially one that's kind of both. The faster the bullet was moving in the air, the more unstable it becomes when it impacts. When the round destabilizes enough, it disintegrates.
The AR-15 fires at an extraordinarily high velocity; the damage those rounds do to living tissue is hard to imagine. It probably split into pieces after it his his ear and went everywhere and nowhere. Or it didn't, and it hit the guy behind him. The delayed reaction is because the human body takes a second or two to catch up to the incredible amount of damage it just experienced nigh-instantaneously.
It always takes people a little bit to realize what's actually happening when a shooting first starts. If a shooting is only one or two gunshots, most people won't even realize it happened. The sound of gunshots is uncommon enough for most people, especially in the context of bouncing off buildings and so forth in a city, that it can be hard to tell from fireworks or a car backfiring. This shooting also did not manage to hit many people, so only the people immediately around the injured realized instantly what was happening and were wholly occupied with helping the injured with no attention left to tell others to run.
That's all relatively normal shooting reactions. **They would have needed school kids in the crowd to have been able to react immediately and appropriately to the sound of a shooter.**
That part bothers me - the loss of the fireman who protected his family. The by standing officers hit by shards of the same glass/plastic that clipped Trump's ear. That Trump would be a victim? I wouldn't put that past him. Would he dare the murder of an innocent bystanders? I wouldn't put that past him either but it is inconceivable on its face. That would be the act of a man with no conscience...and that describes Trump. But am I willing to stand on the mountain and say he set it up? No because I'm not certain.

It was a false flag operation. He ducked behind the podium at a signal by the "shooter," then nicked himself on the ear with a razor blade. Remember this guy is a long time con man who lies with every breath he takes.
I think they were showing a shooting position about 148 yards from the podium. Still that's right up close if you have a decent scope/rifle combination. They haven't announced yet what sort of firearm was used. I think it must have been a fairly small caliber.
It was his dad's AR-15. The dude was rejected by his high school rifle club (and asked to not come back) because he was such a terrible marksman they considered him dangerous to those around him.
Law enforcement officials have claimed to two different sources that former President Donald Trump was not grazed by a bullet but rather by glass shards.
